Event Fund

(Bayaran Keraian Networking) – Payments to researchers for initiating networking with industry, community, or agencies.

Objectives

  • As encouragement and incentive for researchers to expand their networks and collaborations with industry, community, or agencies in conducting the Knowledge Transfer Program, Research Contracts, Commercialization, and Professional Services.
  • To enhance the visibility of UTM researchers to industry, community, or agencies, which indirectly strengthens the university’s image as a quality research center.
  • As an incentive for University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) staff to establish networks that support the enhancement and strengthening of engagement relationships with industry, community, or agencies.

Conditions

  • The applicant must be a university staff member (open to Academic staff and Administrative and Professional staff of Grade 41 and above).

Application requirements

  • The networking activities must involve industry, community, or agencies.

Duration

Applications are open throughout the year, subject to the remaining available allocation.

Amount

  • The allowed amount for each application to conduct networking activities does not exceed RM 350.00 per staff per year. Applicants are allowed to apply more than once, with the total cumulative amount of applications not exceeding RM 350.00. Consideration can be given to applicants who have exceeded the maximum value and demonstrated a record of high-impact networking

  • Expenses are only allowed for entertainment costs covering drinks and food only. However, the final approved claim amount is subject to the Community and Industry Network Centre (CCIN).

  • Claims must be submitted no later than 3 months from the date of the activity. All expenses must be prudent and comply with university circulars.

Output

  • The networking/collaboration report should be submitted via the provided Google Form.

Application Process

  • Claims for payment must be submitted to the Community & Industry Network Centre (CCIN) by completing the application form via Google Form.
  • The status of the application will be communicated by CCIN.
  • The payment method is a reimbursement.
  • Applicants need to submit the original receipts to the CCIN office.
