OrphanCARE Awareness & Reproductive Health Forum and Exhibition was held on 5th March 2014 (Wednesday) at UTM Johor Bahru. About 300 participants attended the community programme including internal and external communities such as students, teachers, PIBG, NGO, Governmental Agencies and public.
Three invited speakers, Mrs. Azra Banu (Founding Member of OrphanCARE Foundation), Dr. Azimah Ahmad (Nur Sejahtera Clinic, LPPKN Johor) and Dr. Amilia Hazreena Hamidon (Specialist in Family Physician, Greentown Health Clinic, Ipoh) were discussing the topics related to baby disposal, baby hatch and adoption. Furthermore, they are also deliberating on family planning, reproductive health and juvenile health too. The lively and actively session are chaired by moderator Dr. Ismail Ahmed, Director of UTM Students Health Centre.
The participants also were given a chance to do medical checkup for high-blood pressure, glucose level, cholesterol level, BMI, blood type (A, B, AB or O), body fat index, HPV injection at the Students Health Centre, LPPKN Johor and Geron Biomed exhibition booths (*costs subject to certain conditions).
Other exhibitors are National Cancer Council (MAKNA), OrphanCARE Foundation (NGO that providing Baby Hatch – a shelter for baby disposed), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat, Simpang Rengam Prison, Majlis Agama Islam Johor, BSN, BSN Prudential insurance agency and UTM-CTC as well.
